Our support for California during wildfire season

The following message from the California Operating Committee & the MLT Leaders of California was sent today to all JPMorgan Chase employees across the state.

Across California we have all been affected by this year's devastating wildfires – and there could be more to come. That’s why it’s so important to stand together for each other and our communities.

Firmwide thus far we have committed $220,000 to relief efforts including to the League of California Community Foundations, the Center for Disaster Philanthropy’s Wildfire Recovery Fund, and Marin County Search and Rescue.

This adds to our previous contribution of $1 million supporting both the California Resilience Challenge and the Outsmart Disaster Campaign. With this philanthropic commitment, these organizations are already working to address climate change and helping communities build preparedness through projects across the state. Efforts span from determining where trees can reduce the urban heat-island effect in some of Southern California’s disadvantaged communities, to reducing fire risk and improving carbon sequestration in Northern California forests.

If you need support, we encourage you to reach out to our Employee Assistance Program for confidential assistance. If you know consumers facing financial hardship because of the wildfires, please encourage them to call our Customer Care line at 800-254-7713 for help with their Chase accounts.

In this challenging year, we’re here for you, our customers, friends and colleagues across California.

Our best,
Olivier de Givenchy, Peter Engel, Diedra Porché, David Shaheen, Christine Leong Connors, Allison Wysocki, Erik Langeland, Ethan Morgan, Maggie O’Sullivan, Bambos Charalambous, Aaron Ryan
