Supporting our communities during the cost of living crisis

January 12, 2023

As the cost of living across the region continues to increase, JPMorgan Chase is aware that those in poverty are hardest hit by the increase in food and energy prices. In the U.K., the problem is particularly acute, with inflation at its highest rate in four decades and nearly a million households across the country facing the threat of eviction this winter, according to the homeless charity Crisis.

In order to help those whose livelihoods are most directly affected by the current crisis, today JPMorgan Chase is announcing that the firm will make an initial contribution totalling £1.5 million to three U.K. organisations working to support communities in need. The firm’s philanthropic contribution to these three charities is part of a larger global commitment of up to $5 million. As part of this commitment, the firm will match employee donations dollar-for-dollar to these organisations.

  • Feeding Britain – access to quality food for vulnerable and low-income people and families
  • British Red Cross – access to warm spaces for vulnerable individuals and providing refugees and asylum seekers from Ukraine, Afghanistan, Syria and other countries with expanded direct assistance
